I want to give my students so much because they have so little. Most of the students I work with come from homes below the poverty line, and I want them to have the chance to experience something that can influence their lives. Some of these students don't have access to the simplest supplies at home.
I want them to be exposed to as much as possible so that they don't fall behind.
Even though they have so much gone against them, they bounce back each time and come to school ready to learn. They look to our school as a place to escape their rough home lives and that makes me want to provide them with everything I can.
My Project
Many of our students come from low income families and do not get the nutritional from healthy snacks. We can all agree that learning can challenging at times. But learning on an empty stomach makes it difficult to stay engaged. A lot of our students at EBA stay after school for after school activity's, such as after school sports and homework club which most of the students do not bring snacks. Some of the students do go to the vending machine where they can purchase chips and soda which is not very healthy.
I want to give my students healthy snacks to keep them focused and engaged after school!!
Have snacks like protein bars and healthy cookies would be great for the students because it is easy and quick when you are on the go. Having drinks such as water and seltzer will keep the students hydrated because we all know that soda isn't to good for you! The yeti cup will be available for and any students that need one to drink a hot or cold beverage. Some student do not get enough nutrition from the food they eat and one may to help this students is to have some healthy vitamins available. These snacks provide a lot of healthy ingredients like fruits and nuts which can help keep students focused and engaged during after school Programs.
