My Students

My students come from varying socioeconomic backgrounds. In light of the recent safety issues in our schools, I am looking to keep our students safe. Our primary goal is to educate our young people. However, in order to do this without as much stress for their safety, I am asking for help to keep our classrooms safe. I want my students and families to understand that when their children are in our classrooms, we have an added level of security.

My Project

As an educator, it makes me sad that we need to think about the safety of our students in our classrooms. It used to be we worried about their academics, social and emotional well-being. Unfortunately, we have seen a rise in school violence. This is not something our children should ever need to think about when going to school. For this reason, I am requesting help with purchasing safety bars for each door in our school.

The bars would ensure that each door can be secured and allow more children to go unharmed should an armed intruder make it into our school.

I wish we could say all schools have the budget to fund safety items for each classroom, but this is not the case. As we have seen, most public education budgets have been cut so there just are not the needed resources for safety for our children and staff. By donating to this project, you will allow our students families to feel a little more security when their children are in our care.
