My students need stickers, prizes and certificates to encourage them to make good choices. These items will make a positive impact on each student in my classroom.
I am blessed to teach 24 kindergartners in a Title I school. I have 10 boys and 14 girls in my class. Eighty percent come from single parent homes. My school is a small rural school, where most families live at or near the poverty level. Eighty percent of my students live in homes where parents only have high school or GED educations. The majority of my parents do not have any extra funds to be able to help out in their child`s classroom. Our community is made up of a lot of families barely getting by.
Many of my students come to school with no positive experiences and are not usually caught being good!
I make it a daily goal to start each child`s day with something positive and to have them leave to go home with another positive experience.
My Project
Many of my students come to school with no positive experiences and I must provide them all with love and make them all feel good as soon as they come in my classroom. This project will help me provide stickers, certificates of awards, toy prizes from prize buckets and arm charm bracelets and bookmarks to use in promoting positive experiences for each child. When a child gets one of these items it will make them feel good and put a smile on their face.
I must plan for each child to have a positive experience as soon as they get to my classroom and ensure they leave to go home with a positive experience.
I will use the items from this project daily with all my students. Kindergartners love stickers, arm bands, certificates and especially toy prizes.The funding of this project will help add a positive outlook in every student I am blessed to teach.
