My students need access to reliable laptops. These Chromebooks will be a valuable addition to our classroom.

I'm working at my desk in my classroom when I overhear one of my students ask another a question. They are working quietly on an online practice assessment. "Hey Scott, Can I borrow your space bar?" I look up and laugh silently at the absurdity of the question. Then I see the look on the face of the student who asked it. He wasn't smiling but didn't seem to be aggravated either. Deflated is the word that comes to mind. I sat there and processed what had just occurred and realized that I had put my students in a situation where they will likely fail. How are they supposed to perform well on an exam where they have to write short answer responses when the equipment available to them in inferior? My students deserve better than that.
My classes often lack the basic technology to access many of the wonderful Social Studies resources found online.
There is some technology throughout the school available to classrooms but it is often unreliable. It's not fair to my students. We insist they use equipment that is substandard and then hold them accountable when they've performed poorly. They deserve better. Thank you.
These laptops will help provide reliable access to a multitude of online resources for my Social Studies classes. Student's these days are wired into technology so it makes no sense to continue using outdated instructional materials such as textbooks and handouts.
Since student achievement is often measured by their performance on computer-based standardized tests, these laptops will help my class become more prepared and help showcase the talent they possess.
Although this will not be enough laptops for every student, the computers will rotate through the classroom so every child will have access to resources on the internet. Thank you.
