My Students

They are diverse in every sense of the word. The students who attend my high school are very similar to the students who I grew up with - they each have their own challenges but for the most part, want to do the right thing. They have a real love of technology but the school is severely lacking in the technology to get them to the next level.

Our school serves students in grades 9-12 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment.

My Project

Our Robotics Team engages students in the ultimate project-based STEM experience. Students develop and apply skills in math, computer science, physics, and engineering, as well as participating in public relations, budgeting and finance, and community outreach. Since 2014, the team has seen consistent growth in the size and commitment of our team and our achievement at the FIRST Robotics Competition.

These are all tools and materials needed to build a robot.

The drill is to make holes in aluminum and the saw is used to cut the aluminum. We are also requesting wire to connect the major electronic parts together. Of course, we need a wire stripper to help with this.

We are part of an urban public school, and are committed to creating an equitable and non-cost prohibitive program for our students. Sponsor contributions keep the program active and accessible to all of our members. Please help us keep our promise to our students and our program growing.
