This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they are hard-working, determined students. They want to learn and want to be successful.
As a third grade ELA teacher in a low-income district, most of my students will show up with empty backpacks or with nothing at all.
This makes it hard for my students to feel supported and ready for school. I am looking to find funding for their supplies so they can have what the need to achieve success this year. Thank you!!!
My Project
These materials are the basic necessities of all students. Pens, pencils, notebooks, markers, crayons, etc. My students need these supplies in order to complete their reading, writing, grammar and social studies work every single day.
My students' families can't afford the basic materials needed in order for their child to be successful in school.
Most of my students come in with no backpack or an empty one. It is up to me to supply them with what they need in order to reach their true potentials. It is impossible for me to get it all myself this year. Please help!
