Welcome to Grosse Pointe North High School, home of the Norsemen! In our fine district we have a thriving fine arts program that offers band, orchestra, choir, and theatre.
Music should be an option for all, however, the expenses of having and maintaining a musical instrument are too much for the many of the music students within our district.
Through music, students learn to grow and humans and are provided a unique opportunity to express themselves as individuals, but also as a team of diverse people working toward a common goal. At our school, especially in the instrumental music room, we are learning to embrace our differences to achieve new levels of greatness.
Currently, we own over 150 music education and instrument pedagogy resource books. The students should have access to the amazing resources, however, currently we have nowhere to display them thus leading to them being stored in a locker. We need a new bookshelf!
The goal with this project is to have a safe and accessible location where students have access to inquire and grow as independent learners.
Our resource library will provide the tools to accomplish this task.
All learners do significantly better when provided the opportunity to drive their own education, therefore having as option packed with useful resources will aid anyone who has committed to taking ownership in their own education.
