Student Radio Theatre

Help me give my students the tools they need to record and transfer their radio theatre projects. Students will be able to record with the microphones and use the flash drives to transfer and edit their projects.

My Students

My students are creative and interested in many forms of acting: live theatre, radio theatre, dramatic readings, and improv. These students perform in the classroom, for the school and in the community and surrounding areas. They have also been a part of a few holiday radio programs. They are go-getters who work together well and like to jump in with both feet at any project given to them. They are the kind of students who help each other, older students mentoring young ones, experienced students offering advice to newcomers.

As rural students, they have a spark that encourages them to step out of their shells and try things!

My Project

Students grades 6th through 12th will be able to participate in writing, performing, and editing radio theatre programs. In the beginning, students will have a chance to learn how to make radio performances stand out to an audience. As they get more experience they will be able to edit the performances and add effects to make a more professional product. Finally, they will be able to work collaboratively to create original pieces to perform and produce on-air.

In order to perform and create, students would need portable microphones to use outside of the student to record their work and flash drives to keep track of their projects as they bring them to the studio to edit and present them to the radio station to air.
