My Students

My students are looking for alternative paths to careers. Most of them will not go the "conventional route" of education and head to college after high school. The students are working hard to learn a trade and progress to a potential apprenticeship within the building trades.

My Project

My senior students will be working on a competition build. There are 3 second-year students in each of my classes morning and afternoon sessions for a total of 6 students who will be working as teams. The project will be a pergola outside. They will be digging the holes, setting posts, pouring concrete, and doing all the carpentry work to cut and assemble this structure.

The purpose of these Milwaukee 12v drill sets is for giving students incentive to take their time and do it right.

The winning team will receive a set as a prize at the end of the year so that they can continue using their skills, with the tools they learned them with.
