Although my third grade bilingual students come from a low socio-economic background, they are eager and excited to take on opportunities presented to them. My students often ask me if they can borrow markers, colored pencils, and paper to do extra work beyond their school work at home.
For most of my students, the only opportunity to use school supplies is when they come to school.
My students have a bright future and will be given the opportunity to go above and beyond if they are set up in their school environment for success.
Supplies I am requesting will help my students and I have an organized and effective classroom space.
On the classroom rug, I will provide an area for students to come together for whole group learning and introduce daily topics using a dry erase board and markers.
After I introduce whole group daily topics to the class, I will use the easel to post anchor charts that help students work through math and science problems.
Lastly, I am requesting a high functioning electric sharpener so that students can easily sharpen their pencils without a mess and get right back to their work.
I am certain that with your support, I will be able to teach more efficiently and help students transition from their whole group to small groups.
