Help me give my students the materials and resources they need (like storage cabinets, book cases, prepared microscope slides, and more) to enhance their learning experiences!
I have twenty-four creative and inquisitive fifth grade students who come from various backgrounds, economic statuses, and family dynamics. Teaching in a Title I school, I see many of my students do not come to school with the basic supplies they need for learning. I incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met. I want to create an environment where every student feels comfortable and a part of the classroom by providing the necessary materials to be successful.
My Project
My students and I need various classroom materials and resources as well as more storage containers for math manipulatives and reading books. Bookcases are needed to store the reading books and math manipulatives in the storage containers and storage bins. Also, desk organizers are needed to organize various student work papers as well as a place for extra colored paper to be stored for student use. These resources will help organize both student materials and as well as the new materials and resources in need. These materials and resources are necessary for enriching and enhancing each student's educational experience as well as their day to day environment.
This project will also provide alternative seating options for students when doing group work as well as student incentive items that they can earn through following classroom expectations.
Also, in order for students to use the three class iPads, we need a charging dock to charge the iPads simultaneously and to store them safely. Historical documents of the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights are needed for students to examine in social studies. Various fossils are needed for science for students to observe both with a hand lens and microscope.
