Our 4th graders are absolutely amazing. Within our classroom walls, there is a wide-range of students. We have a large group of fourth-graders that come from different cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Our school is large, but we make an effort to have a relationship with each student.
We strive to have every child feel noticed and loved. In our classroom, we truly enjoy each other, and there is a lot of laughter and ownership with our learning.
Our goal is to help mold hard-working, independent students. We want each child to feel accomplished during each stage of their academic development.
My Project
My students need help bridging the gap between using pencil and paper to typing on a computer. Most students struggle and find it frustrating to convey their thoughts through typing; this ultimately results in a weaker response than their given-ability. The headphones will be used specifically to help adapt students to use the deep thinking with extended response or essay based questioning through the computer.
My goal is for each student to gain self-confidence in their ability to convey a meaningful answer on a computer.
All too often, I notice my students feeling defeated while learning to incorporate technology into their learning. Instead, I want each student to gain confidence in their ability to adapt while gaining a pride in their work. As we learn and grow, each student will make goals for tying on their own without the microphone assistance.
