Mrs. Wilson from Dover DE is requesting reading nooks, desks & storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need an environment in which they can better focus and be comfortable and have all learning needs met.

The educational world is changing more and more every year. Within my classroom, I have various styles of learning to happen at once. My students are incredibly inclined to using any technology.
Using technology within the classroom has allowed my students to take control of their learning.
Using technology helps the students to show their individual strengths through various activities.
Within my classroom, I service both special education as well as regular education students. Having a place they can learn comfortably and have the resources needed is very important.
These materials will allow students to get comfortable within their setting and use various methods of learning (including technology) to take ownership of their learning. Students would be able to use the portable carpets to work anywhere in the classroom. The lap tray will also allow my students to work and collaborate in groups even with the use of technology and keeping it safe and off the ground. The charging station will allow me to maintain the charge of the I-pads that we use in the classroom every day. Some students like to have the flexibility and different seating to accommodate the way they sit comfortably so having the floor pillows and the tall stools will help give them more choices.
The items will help me to accommodate different learning needs within my classroom.
Students' needs all vary. Some students like to lay down, sit on a stool, sit on the carpet, and many other forms of seating where they are comfortable and are able to focus better. Having these options also helps teach the students responsibility for making choices that will benefit themselves and help them learn the best they can. The materials will allow my students to choose an area of the room that will help them to focus and do their best work.
