My students need 30 student whiteboards desperately! All of ours our peeling, and do not erase anymore. My students use these boards constantly to practice their skills.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come to school with very few skills. Many do not even know how to hold a pencil or write their name. We use our classroom whiteboards to practice letters, numbers, words and math skills and for quick assessments.
My students are English Language learners from Phoenix, Arizona.
Many come from families where the parents cannot speak, read, or write in English. This causes my students to enter school behind their peers. Our class needs every opportunity possible to support their learning. We need to spend every moment filling in their skill gaps so that when they leave kindergarten they are above and beyond where they need to be for first grade.
My Project
We are in serious need of new student whiteboards! Ours have been used for so many years that they are broken and smeared, things do not erase and we don't even have enough of them for our new larger class size. The boards do not have enough lined spaces either. We use the boards daily for handwriting practice, sight word practice, quick whole group assessments and math. I would love to have these new lined, magnetic ones! The we can use them with magnetic letters, and math manipulatives as well.
The boards I am requesting are of way better quality than what we have had previously.
They will be used daily and for years to come. I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to come to Donors Choose and look at the needs of students around the country! You cannot imagine what a wonderful impact you make on our classrooms!
