OooOur students have amazing potential, but many of our students experience opportunity gaps. Our student come from diverse backgrounds, including many immigrants and refugees that are English language learners. The majority of our students are economically disadvantaged, and lack opportunities that are typical for other student their age.
Students in our school's Community Leaders Program (CLP) show an aptitude for leadership, and a desire to help their community.
CLP empowers students to shape their community through service projects, and support students in developing their leadership potential.
The Community Leadership Program (CLP) students have created a plan to make our school more welcoming, culturally responsive, and beautiful through a variety of art projects. These supplies will be used by our student to implement their plan of making our school a better place for students through the arts.
Our amazing students have creative plans for murals, art installations, inspiring and uplifting quotes, and creating an installation to welcome students and their families in our community that come from countries all over the world.
Students will use the acrylic paint to create murals that represent the diversity of our community and inspire our students to achieve great things.
Our school has students from many different countries, and student will be creating a display of country flags surrounded by greetings in vinyl that say "Welcome" in the many languages spoken by our students and their families.
Students will install an interactive art "coloring mural" to involve their peers in creating a poster to celebrate cultural contributions from all over the world.
Student also wanted to create their own art pieces to express themselves, and create a more beautiful school environment by creating their own art pieces on wooden squares. Students are also going to be using the supplies to create art pieces that celebrate the content of all of the various classes we offer at our school.
