Student Created Interactive Science/Health Resource Books
My students need Scotch tape, high lighters, scissors, and copy paper to help them create Interactive Notebooks to use as a resource in middle school and high school.
I teach in a small rural school in Northern Indiana. I teach four different middle school classes; 7th and 8th grade science and 7th and 8th grade health. The quote "Tell me and I'll forget. Show me and I may remember. Involve me and I'll learn." reflects my teaching strategy. My students are enthusiastic and engaged in learning.
They are creative and passionate about what they create.
My students are invested in things they create themselves and have a sense of ownership in what they build/create. Our school is very limited on supplies they can give. I want to find a way for my students to be provided with everything thing they need to be successful in my classroom. Every student has the capability of success.
My Project
This project is requesting Scotch tape, high lighters, scissors, and computer paper to help students create an Interactive Notebook to use as a resource for middle school and high school classes.
This past school year was my first year helping students create their own Interactive Notebooks in my science class.
These notebooks are a mixture of traditional notes, illustrations, activities, and vocabulary. This is a great engagement tool for students. It promotes creativity and provides them with a resource to help them study or keep and use in later courses.
Many of my students kept their interactive notebooks this year to use as a tool for next year in their other courses.
