Help me give my students paint, paper, and brush supplies for our student council club to have the means to create posters and art for our school and public to see how proud we are at our school.
I teach in a comprehensive suburban high school of about thirteen hundred students. My students never cease to amaze me by showing me what they are truly capable of accomplishing.
They work hard, give often and show respect.
In one of our drives for raising money for the March of Dimes, I witnessed a group of selfless teenagers dig into their pockets and purses to raise over four hundred dollars in one week. One student handed me a twenty dollar bill. I told him I didn't have change yet and he replied, "No, I want the kids to have it." This act lead to the others in my class to give generously. This was a moment when I knew these kids are capable of so much more than we can sometimes offer them.
My Project
Almost weekly, the student council club at our school is working on helping other clubs and organizations to have what they need. Our students are so giving of their time and extremely resourceful, and this would greatly help them to have supplies on hand when needed quickly.
Our student council takes pride in making our school a place to call home.
These young adults are staying after school for hours creating posters and fliers so our student body knows about the activities we are promoting.
Often others seek our help in making artwork to help them get the word out for their club's cause. The paper alone is sometimes so expensive; this project will allow our students to be able to create really anything they wish when needed.
