it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Welcome to Ms. Dhora's second grade class. Through a variety of methods of learning we are on our way to getting through each day a little wiser! Through love, support, and more importantly fun, we are on our way to becoming better learners!
I have a class of about 17 students who all come from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
Most of the families of my students have at least one parent whose first language is not English which makes our school a Title One School. Our school has a diverse staff and speak over 10 different languages.
My Project
We want this large classroom rug because of the majority of our class time is spent sitting on the floor as we teach our lessons on the Promethean touch board. This rug will allow my student to have their own space and it will allow future students the same comfort.
In order for students to become successful learners, its important that students are a part of a classroom that is colorful and where they have their own space.
This not only allows independent learning, but the rug allows for cooperative learning as well. The colors on the rug will allow for a variety of grouping and equity strategies which are a huge part of our curriculum and student environment.
