My students love to learn almost as much as I love to teach. They want to please all those around them and strive to do their best every moment of every day. They want to be world changers! They enjoy many different hobbies including sports, music, video games, being outdoors, and crafts. Many students live in the country and several students help out on their family farm or ranch.
My students want to participate and ultimately stay involved in their learning experience.
Many of them overcome learning disabilities, low socioeconomic conditions, and tough home life. School is a getaway in which they work towards achieving big goals and dreams.
These items will enhance my students learning. Flexible seating allows students to make choices to optimize their learning with choosing a smart seat. During independent work times they would be able to choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students work in a traditional seating but I would like to offer more choices. Making sure students are comfortable and have a choice is an important part in motivating them. The students will be able to be focused more and engaged in their learning and get more work completed. It gives them more freedom to move around the room as needed, for example, to see the board, to move away from a distracting peer, or to see a visual aid. Students would be able to choose a wobble cushion to sit on the floor or use it in a chair allowing more comfort and the ability to move as they work. The beanbag seats and comfy floor seat paired with a lap board or clipboard allow the students to move wherever they like around the room to optimize their learning. The ball seats give the students the ability to get wiggles out while learning and can be paired with a table or traditional desk. Finally, the floor cushion allows for more comfort. This comfort, choice, and flexibility will enhance engagement and learning.
