My Project

Each day I get the privilege to work with an amazing group of students and help prepare them for life after high school. Each student brings a unique skill set to the classroom and the goal is to capitalize on these strengths, with an emphasis on applying these skills in the real world. Due to individual circumstances and personal preferences/interests, this group of students often misses opportunities to learn and strengthen skills needed to function independently in our community.

Our school coffee shop, Haleterra, provides a wide range of learning opportunities for this group of students.

Students learn and practice social, vocational, and daily-living skills while working at Haleterra. We are asking for coffee shop supplies (coffee, disposable cups and lids, stir sticks, cup sleeves) to keep our shop afloat and a stainless steel prep table for a more professional (& sanitary) experience. We also encourage eco-friendly practices like using reusable mugs instead of disposable cups when possible. A Cricut Mug Press and design materials including butcher paper, infusible ink transfer sheets, infusible ink pens, blank mugs, and heat-resistant tape, will give our students a way to express our individual creativity and generate more income.
