Student Ambassadors Character Education Reading Program
My students need ( Ambassadors in grades 6-8) more character education books to read to students in the K-5 grades. This is a reading program the Ambassadors created
Changing the world one mind at a time. This is the concept of our student leadership group, Ambassadors. They created a program last year to go into the classrooms of younger students and read books on character to them. This student led program desperately needs more books to read.
My students are located in North Florida.
They range from grades 6 to 8th grade and belong to a student leadership program called "Ambassadors". They work diligently to create a welcoming environment where everyone "treats people the way they wish to be treated". They are role models for younger students and they need your help.
My Project
The resources the students requested are character based books they can use to teach and inspire younger students. They know this type of education and peer modeling will create a loving and safe environment, free from bullies. Their goal this year is to read to grades K-5 once a month to encourage good character.
Whenever students are inspired it inspires those around them.
This program was started last year by a group of inspired middle school students. This year the group is larger (20 students) and they wish to continue the character education reading program. They are planning several fundraisers this year to purchase supplies but any help provided by the public is greatly appreciated. I can not imagine how inspired they will be when they realize others are willing to help them achieve their goal.
