My students need six acoustic guitars so we can create a new acoustic guitar elective class.
This project expired on August 29, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Every student in our small K-8 building will walk through the music room doors, which makes music class a unifying element of our school.
Our school is a tight-knit community where everyone knows and cares about each other.
There are 330 students in our building and about 65% of them receive free or reduced lunch. Our school is located in a rural area on the southern border of Wisconsin. Our students are ambitious learners and always inquiring about ways to further their education.
Our school strives to provide unique learning experiences to all of it's students. Our middle school students have been asking to learn how to play acoustic guitar for years and we want to give them that opportunity by creating a brand new elective class. Each student would get to use their own acoustic guitar during class to learn chords and melodies so they can play along with songs and compose their own music.
Donating to our project will bring us one step closer to widening our curriculum by offering a new acoustic guitar class at Lakewood.
Learning a musical instrument is a skill that will benefit them in multiple areas of their daily life. Not only will they be learning perseverance, discipline, and responsibility, they will be making life long memories with classmates!
