This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have the pleasure of working with wonderfully motivated students every day! Our school is a Title 1 school located in the center of our city. Although they enjoy music at school, many do not have the opportunity at home to further their experiences outside of the classroom.

My students are motivated to learn and enjoy the challenges and rewards of making music as much as we can.

I want to give them every opportunity and experience that I can.

My Project

I am looking to obtain more ukuleles to add to the several that I already have. All students in my classes should be able to use an instrument instead of having to share with a partner.

With the limited amount of instruction time in music each week, I would like them to have as much time to play an instrument as much as they can!

Having used ukuleles for a limited amount of time in my classroom has been an amazing experience. The students get so excited to play them. Playing an instrument is a life-long skill and something they can enjoy into adulthood.
