Struggling to Replace Outdated Textbooks

My students need a class set of Books for AP World History that are differentiated and appeal to their abilities.

My Students

My students attend an urban, comprehensive high school in Wisconsin. The majority of them receive free breakfast and lunch as they come from low-income families. Despite the challenges this presents them, they are some of the hardest working students who find ways to persevere. Our school receives some supplies annually, but our students could really benefit from some newer books that are up to date and cover the content needed. By receiving these books, we can offer these students a better educational opportunity.

My Project

My students need a new class set of World History Books that are updated to our times, easy to read and align with the standards of the course. The books in our classroom right now are dated, missing pages, are drawn in and dense with with a lot of text and not enough colored pictures that give students an idea of what they are reading. I am requesting these books specifically because I am impressed with how they appeal to wider range of reading levels in my classroom. I know students learing and student academic performace will improve because students will be able to interact and engage more with the text. I know that if students connect more with the content they will for sure improve their scores on the AP exam for college credit! Thank you for taking the time to read!
