Struggling Readers Need Confidence

Help me give my students these Brownie and Pearl, Little Critter, Eloise, Dear Dragon and other books to help my struggling readers feel confident in reading and not frustrated.

My Project

Walt Disney's quote is hanging in my classroom.

My students see it every day. The sad thing is that my reluctant readers don't believe this quote. They are not confident when they read and they are afraid the other students will laugh at them when they make a mistake. And I Mean it, Stanley, Big Pig and Little Pig, Little Critter, Lion and the Mouse, Dear Dragon and other books will give my students confidence.

These books will motivate my struggling readers by providing books on topics that their peers are reading, but targeted toward their reading. Right now my struggling students want to read what my other second grade students are reading. They try to read these books but they struggle with each word and don't comprehend what they are reading. These books will provide a love of reading for my reluctant readers.
