This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My class consists of nine, unique students who are full of energy! It is a Kindergarten to 4th grade adapted curriculum, self-contained classroom of exceptional children. My students have a wide range of special needs. We are working on basic life skills and academics with an emphasis on communication skills.
My students have a wide range of motivators and interests such as princesses and finger painting!
These motivators help us encourage them to reach their academic and functional goals in the classroom.
My Project
I teach 9 wonderfully unique students in an adapted EC classroom. My students have a variety of sensory needs and sensitivities. The sand and water table will be a tool for students to calm down and explore different sensations. Many of my students have gross motor deficits. The trampoline will be a fun way to have students strengthen their muscles.
Structuring my room for the specific needs of my students is the goal for this project.
The nine children in my room all have different academic goals. They also have behaviors that may be a barrier to their learning. In order for students to work with fewer distractions, the LakeShore barriers will be used for individual work areas.
