I work with highly impoverished students who are eager to learn, love physical education and would benefit greatly from high quality equipment. They take very good care of the equipment we currently have and use it to the best of their ability. The budget for new and replacing equipment is very low. My students would love having the privilege of using fitness equipment that is designed for them and playing fun games during PE.
The students at my school are born leaders of good character.
When discussing the qualities of people and behaviors they would like to see in class, they describe people who are caring, kind, helping others, playing fair, including others, following the rules, and when mistakes are made, they accept the consequences and strive to be better and learn from them.
Based on financial needs, most of my students receive a free lunch. Not having the means to have the equipment they need can prevent them from gaining the confidence and tools required for developing and maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. My goal is to inspire them by leading fun games using high quality exercise equipment.
Batting tees will help my students to be more successful when striking with objects. This helps them to focus on the ball better while developing eye hand coordination. The tees will also help them to see home plate, as many of my students have never played tee ball or baseball, this will help them to have better focus on the ball and improve their swing.
Yoga mats will give my students the opportunity to meditate, perform yoga, and improve their flexibility, cope with stress, develop resilience, and increase their strength.
Speed ladders will help my students to develop speed and agility while having fun and developing sport specific skills. These performance enhancing tools will enable my students to be more motivated, more versatile, and better movers that will assist them in developing healthy, active lifestyles.
