Our school is a melting pot of great students from very diverse backgrounds. Our school has been named the top high school in the state and one of the top high schools in the country. This is all due to the high expectations and efforts from our students, faculty, parents and our community. With the financial burden and budget cuts that schools are faced with across Oklahoma, we have no additional funds to support our physical education courses or any of our athletic programs.
My Project
Being the number one high school in Oklahoma does not mean that we have funds to purchase much needed items. We are a charter school and have no budget for equipment.
During physical education classes and after school programs, the students have no other choices but to run or do various games that do not require equipment.
This creates an atmosphere of boredom and resistance to taking PE classes. This equipment will benefit all levels of physical education as well as boost our program tremendously. A stronger body means a more alert mind. These students have the willingness to improve, they just need the equipment to succeed.
