My Students
Every day in the classroom, I feel an overwhelming positive energy from my students. They enter the classroom excited and engaged, ready to learn and cooperate with each other. They all bring prior knowledge and experiences, willing to share with the community.
Over half of my students come from low-income households, but they only see opportunities when they arrive at school. Regardless of several challenges that they may face at home, my students thrive from diverse interactions with their peers, enhancing their mind and building their character.
My Project
My students have been working very hard to increase their reading stamina, both with fiction and nonfiction text. However, sometimes their environment can be distracting to their success.
By incorporating new seating options, fidgets, and new texts, my students can continue to strengthen their mind and body.
Students can better focus on their reading when their body can release gentle movements and their hands can remain in motion. The Hokki stools allow my students to have a flexible, personalized seating option. When they are able to choose their space, their minds can stay engaged in their text while their body feels healthy and at ease. Overall, this creates a motivated reader and a balanced student.
