My Students

Middle school guitar students can be so much fun. Watching students learn how to express themselves through a musical instrument is a truly joyous experience. The first day everyone is very quiet. They have all kinds of thoughts in their heads. Some are excited, thinking, "I can't wait to play the guitar!" Others are unsure of thinking, "How did I get in this class?" After a few classes have gone by, so many of the students are proud of what they have learned and look forward to coming back again to learn more. By the end of the term, everyone has come such a long way, and has a new skill to boast!

My Project

Every music class needs percussion! These tubano style drums let kids express themselves with rhythm and have fun in the process. These can be applied in a variety of styles, including rock, jazz, country, hip hop, merengue, and bachatea just to name a few.

They add the perfect amount of percussion to an ensemble and give kids a chance to experience a "hands-on" music class, literally.

Hand-eye coordination, rhythmic development, movement, and sheer enjoyment are things that go with drumming. Your donation to this cause will cause students to jump with joy as they are fully engaged in a music class.
