The fabulous musicians at my school adore making music together! Our students have a growth mindset and never give up when it comes to education. Their singing blows me away every week and their willingness to create something beautiful and fun in the music classroom is unmatched. They have big personalities and love to express it through music! My school is a Title I school and serves over 400 students. They deserve all the resources necessary to become the best musicians they can be!
My Project
These classroom percussion instruments will help us practice keeping a steady beat together, help us compose our own arrangements, allow the students to create small ensembles, and explore the different elements of music! For example, my kindergartners will use the sand blocks almost every lesson in the beginning of the year to help keep the beat! My fifth graders will use the cabasas and the maracas for our orff arrangements of our folk songs. My second graders will use the castanets to practice their sixteenth note rhythm compositions in small groups. All students will benefit from these new and updated instruments!
