Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Art is a new frontier for most of my students as many have not been exposed to the art world as others may have been. All of my students are enthusiastic learners and are very high energy. They are hands-on and love to create new things. They glow every time they realize that they have created something they never thought they could.
Art is a safe place for my students to discover new things and find incredible talents within that they may not have known that they had.
My Project
Many of my students really would like to study drawing figures more. I would love to be able to give them this experience in art by providing them with posable art figures. These figures are so helpful when it comes to more human proportions than many other lessons may be able to give. Like myself, my students do much better with their art if they have an example right in front of them. The liner markers will give them that extra boost in confidence with their art work as well! Many like to add fine lined details to their works and this will give them a better opportunity to do so. Also, the kneaded gum erasers will benefit my students who just can't quite get that last little bit of pencil off of their project. I find these erasers to be essential in my toolbox whilst I'm creating, and would love to give them another tool in their arsenal of imagination to achieve what their vision is. All of these supplies will be used by my art club, all of whom art more serious about art than our usual art classes.
