Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing hard-working individuals. Even though my students struggle with daily obstacles due to various factors, such as poverty, they overcome and cope with their anxiety levels in academic tasks.
My students have worked on building their confidence, self-efficacy, growth mindset by progressively practicing and expanding their learning on a weekly basis.
Our school is located in an urban community with limited resources. Despite their circumstances, my students continue to grow every day by making use of our limited materials. My students are scientists and mathematicians that are going to positively affect the future. They work arduously and persevere despite their daily obstacles within and outside our school. My wonderful students need basic materials to meet their basic needs and nurture their learning.
My Project
My students are lovely people that are full of energy and curiosity. My students' energy levels are essentially an obstacle to their focus in class. They have a difficult time sitting still in the hard metal old chairs we have at our school.
By giving my students bands, they will be able to complete their fractions projects with the paper strips that are also being requested.
The bands will be put underneath my students' seats to bend when doing math and science lessons. The strips will be used to build their concept of fractions for math. My students will focus on their learning since they will have a healthy way to release their energy.
These items will help my students stay focused and teach them how to release their energy healthily, building solid coping skills as they grow older.
