I teach an amazing group of students in an urban school. We are focused on improving their literacy, math, and social and emotional skills. It's a wonderful school that is brightly colored and full of student artwork hanging in all of the hallways.
I teach students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
My students love coming to school and enjoy learning. They are smart, caring, inquisitive and thoughtful. Sometimes school can be challenging so they benefit from a little extra support.
My Project
My students work hard in school and they persevere through academic challenges. Sometimes they need a little break so they can refocus and regain energy. Playdoh, puzzle toys, squishys, wiki stix, and decorating a sticker are great relaxation breaks. After 5 minutes my students are ready to return to their lesson or schoolwork and continue working! Snacks provide my students a little boost in energy so they can focus on learning rather than a rumbling tummy. My students enjoy snacking on animal crackers and popcorn.
Some of my students are learning to self regulate so they will use the punchcard as a way to stay motivated and celebrate positive behaviors.
When a student fills in a punchcard they can earn a prize or a break.
