My Students
My class consists of twenty-four eager learners who are excited to be at school. I teach at a Title I school in Illinois where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
I want my students to strive to become lifelong learners.
My students enter my classroom from various economic backgrounds and are varied in reading and math ability levels. Even though they are at various ability levels, they are all eager to learn and love to use technology to do so. It is my goal to provide them with every opportunity to be successful in third grade.
My Project
Two areas in which my students could use extra support are reading and math. I have joined two free websites, Freckle and Zearn, where my students can log on and work on strategies and skills that we are currently working on during whole class instruction. This will also enable my students to review and strengthen previous strategy instruction that might not have been fully developed.
we are a Title I school, many students do not have access to technology at home.
We are in need of two Chromebooks at school in order to allow students to use these wonderful programs.
These two Chromebooks will allow my students to spend some extra time sharpening their reading and math skills in a fun way. Also, Zearn aligns perfectly with our math curriculum and Common Core Standards. These websites also provide me with feedback on student progress which I can use to guide instruction and data to provide parents and administration.
