This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My kindergarten through 3rd-grade scientists attend a high-poverty school in Wisconsin. I am extremely fortunate to be their elementary science teacher, and I am the only science teacher in our district for this age group. Our school has a new lab, and the students go two times a week to participate in hands-on activities that explore life, earth, and physical sciences. They are also involved in STEM activities that explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. They are excited and eager to learn, and one day they may become scientists themselves.
My Project
All grades can benefit from the stream table. The K-4 students will see how water flows. The K-5 and first grade students will see how water flow effects animal ecosystems. The second grade students can use the table to learn about erosion. The third grade students will use the stream table in conjunction with their study of weather and rainfall.
This stream table and sand will be a fabulous addition to our class.
It is portable and comes with all the items necessary for demostrations.
With your generous support, we will be able to have the new materials to enhance our science and STEM learning.
