Brightly colored murals, beautiful garb, fresh fruits and vegetables at the corner market, and the smell of delicious Indian food coming from the nearby kitchen; this is the environment my students live in.
We have a beautiful neighborhood that embodies the Indian culture.
Unfortunately, my school is in a low-income neighborhood. My students, who are a diverse mix of cultures, attend a school that strives to give them an excellent education. Many of them are first-generation Americans and are excited to begin school.
My Project
Teacher resources are an important tool when planning whole class and differentiated lessons. Teachers like myself are often trying new ideas year after year. Activities and lessons that worked or what what could be done better. New ideas are always welcomed!

These resource texts are a great tool for me to help ALL learners in my class. All these books have wonderful lessons, strategies and tips to help readers at all levels. They give great ideas how to get kiddos who are struggling become engaged and excited to read and write. Almost every reading and writing strategy is mentioned so you can imagine the endless possibilities! Highlighting tape will ensure that key ideas won't be missed!
