I am the Family Consumer Science teacher and FCCLA coordinator at a small, rural school. I teach high school to students who are eager to learn about careers. My students are future teachers, nurses, fashion designers, chefs, lawyers, managers, and bankers. They are learning skills such as sewing, cooking, money management, college prep, child development, and career prep.
My students are hard-workers that strive to do their best.
I want to do everything I can to provide them with quality experiences that will prepare them for their future careers.
We need cast iron grills to use on our gas stovetops in culinary. We live in an area where fried food is central to most gatherings. I would like the students to have the opportunity to learn to grill their food as a healthy alternative to frying. By teaching the students how to grill, they will leave high school feeling confidant preparing meals that are tasty and lean.
Teaching the students to grill will offer them a healthy cooking alternative they can use their entire lives.
The grills will be used on our gas ovens, and the cleaning tools will help with proper maintenance of the grills.
