We are located in an extremely overcrowded elementary school in New York. We work very hard and appreciate learning through laughter, fun, and play. It is a long school day when all we do is sit in our seats and work.
You often hear an explosion of laughter coming from my classroom.
A second grade is an awesome place for any child to be. I am a second-grade teacher for a very eager and excitable group of children. I am truly a lucky teacher.
My Project
Scholastic StoryWorks magazines are fantastic. They have the ability to make a child become a part of the story. Which is exactly what any teacher would want for their students, an intrinsic desire to pick up the magazine and READ!
Imagine a group of second graders actually in a deep discussion about an article they read in StoryWorks magazine.
I have actually used this magazine before and I don't have to imagine debates about articles, I have witnessed them.
As an added benefit, the magazine comes with an awesome website that allows children at all reading levels to enjoy the magazine. The activities are geared for a complete range of readers, so all children will be successful. The magazine is comprised of different reading and writing challenges that are a great learning experience.
The Science Spin magazine is just an added bonus. I love teaching science and doing experiments. This magazine will enable us to do so much more scientific discoveries.
