I teach 20 eager second graders in a Title I school near a military base. The students in my class come from many different backgrounds. Many of the students in our community are socioeconomically disadvantaged, therefore, our school qualified for a program where every student receives breakfast and lunch at no cost. Even with the challenges some of my students face, they come to school ready to learn every day!
I believe in putting kids first - every student, every day!
My students are an awesome bunch of kids! They are smart, creative, kind, and caring. They set goals and then strive to meet those goals every day and never give up! We have a supportive school family and community, but with fewer funds for classroom resources, we need your help meeting the diverse needs of our students!
As our families continue to rebuild after Hurricane Florence and now COVID-19, our students need us to be strong and provide for them like never before. We, as teachers, need your help in rebuilding the strength and confidence of our students!
My Project
Storyworks Jr. is a magazine published by Scholastic that will promote critical thinking and boost students' reading and writing skills through engaging texts. These texts cover a variety of genres and provides differentiation as needed for individualized learning.
The learning journey for my students begins with curiosity!
The fascinating texts included within Storyworks Jr. will "peak" their curiosity and have the students begging for more! In addition, the support offered for teachers is amazing; from videos to vocabulary slideshows.
Please help me fulfill my students' sense of wonder through donating to this amazing project!
