Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Reading to preschool-aged children is a very important tool I, as a teacher, have in my toolbox of teaching. I read with my students every day at circle time and the children enjoy that however, there are always some children who would like to hear more stories. I do not always have the time to read more stories with the children.

Having audiobooks for our listening center would mean that children could choose to have stories read to them during free-choice time as well.

This would give our students another quality activity to pick from during their free-choice time.

Currently, we have two audiobooks in our listening center, each with only one copy of the book. This makes it difficult for multiple children to follow along with the story; a story they have all heard many times. It is our hope to add many titles to our library to bring this center to life and give our children the well-deserved opportunity of having stories read to them as often as possible.
