Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Working in a low income/high poverty neighborhood, my students face many challenges both in and out of the classroom. I want to keep life simple for them, as they still need to be kids, but engaging enough to learn.
My students come from a variety of different backgrounds, but have so much in common.
They are thinkers, dreamers and believers who can do whatever they set their mind to do! They are excited to come to school and WANT to learn about the world around them. They have so much to offer to others.
My Project
All students need access to STEM books! These books will help us tie STEM into our daily learning.
STEM is very important in education and I want to give my students all the opportunities I can so they can dream, create and bring to life their own ideas and see their ideas in action.
Each month students will have different projects to make based off of the books they read! I want my students to see the connections between their world and the books we read.
I want my students to understand what awaits them in the future and what they can do if they persevere!
