Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In Culinary class, students learn about proper food safety and sanitation. Our focus for this unit is discussing food storage and how to do this properly. Why food storage is important and how it keeps us safe from food-borne bacteria illnesses.

These materials will help students learn how to stay safe by properly storing and labeling foods.

Students will use the food labels and permanent markers to practice labeling their food for different recipes they are creating in class. The chart paper will be used to help students draw their own fridge and cabinet to organize ingredients and show where the proper place for different ingredients is in order to store foods to stay safe. The glue sticks will be used to help glue the recipes used in class into their notebooks before completing their cooking lab, where they will be practicing the food storage when creating the recipe.
