Welcome to a place in our school where the love of reading is cultivated...the Media Center! We serve approximately 500 students just outside of Greensboro, NC, and have an older collection of books with an average age of 1997 that we are constantly working to update so our students have new and exciting books to read! All of our students get so excited when we have new books available for checkout from the Media Center! The smiles on their faces are priceless when they see the new books!
My Project
Our school has a PreK class with 18 students. As the media specialist, I visit their classroom for story time once a week. The books in this project are all related to their classroom curriculum topics and will be used during the weekly story time visits.
Our PreK students love story time and are always so excited to hear a new book!
The students often ask me what the title of the book is before I can even sit down in the chair to read it to them. They are always so thankful after hearing the story and I receive so many hugs when story time is over each week!
