Story time is often the most difficult time of a preschoolers day. I teach a self-contained Preschool Intervention class. Early intervention for children with disabilities or developmental delays is crucial. I have 16 energetic, enthusiastic, and active preschoolers. My class is a mix of children ages 3 & 4 with disabilities and typically developing peers.

My students have a variety of disabilities that are complicated, challenging, and at times exhausting. They are each unique with their own little personalities and quirks. Each and every one of them has enduring characteristics that challenge me as their teacher, to find a way to present materials and instruction to them in a way that makes learning fun, rewarding, and successful.

The Classroom CD & Cassette Player would give me yet another way to present literature during story time and provide the class with a listening center to encourage independent reading. It is through experience that I have found that the majority of my preschoolers are fascinated with anything electronic. They seem to be drawn to voice output devices like little magnets.

Your help will ignite the interest of my preschoolers during story time and help them develop a love for books. It takes a "community" to raise our children. Please consider being apart of our "community" by funding this proposal and making a difference in the lives of our preschoolers.
