My students need the experiences and materials that enrich their lives in a positive way. I believe as a first grade teacher at a high-risk school that all children deserve these experiences.
Many children in my classroom are low income and have few experiences to explore outside of their small town.
Many students in my classroom do not have books at home and many other basic necessities. It is very important for my classroom to be a place where students can have a wealth of resources in order to be successful.
My Project
We need your help to keep our year running smoothly. I don't want students to worry about where their supplies are in our busy first grade classroom. When students can access various classroom essentials and math materials, they feel ownership in their learning. This is very important for early learners. Many of our wonderful supplies need a place to go for students to be able to access them easily. We have made use of materials for many years that are falling apart. I am asking for carts with boxes to keep all of our materials inside. We are using flexible seating this year, and this changes the need for storage in various forms in the classroom.
Storage boxes are needed to store the games and supplies inside for the year.
This will allow students to have a sturdy way to use games throughout the school year, and it will keep the games in good shape.
