My students need a solution to store their daily school materials in. The most practical solution is a class set of book bins that will be stored on shelving units.
I am thrilled to start my 5th year of teaching as a new teacher at a charter school in Minnesota. I had the opportunity to meet some of my amazing incoming 4th graders throughout the summer. They have already shown my their excitement and passion for learning and I am thrilled to be their teacher. Being a charter school, our students come from multiple neighborhoods and communities, thus making our school very diverse. A diverse student population translates to deep, meaningful and real learning experiences.
The purpose of our school is to prepare the whole student for life.
We believe our school empowers students to live fulfilling, responsible, and successful lives by purposefully integrating the three developmental areas of Fitness, Intellect, and Teamwork.
These three areas make up the FIT acronym in our school and this purposeful integration results in an impact on student development that is far greater than the sum of each individual developmental area.
My Project
My classroom is set up with some really great tables that allow for partner and team collaboration. However, since these are not your typical "traditional" student desks, there is not a designated space for students to store their daily school materials in. The most practical solution is a set of sturdy, quality book bins that will house their notebooks, folders, chapter books and pencil bag. These book bins will survive through years and years of student use and will be well worth the investment. The shelving units will hold all of the students' book bins and will keep their materials nice and organized. An organized classroom is a happy classroom!
These book bins and shelving units will save ample time from students searching for their materials, therefore allowing for more educational moments throughout the day.
