I am a Special Education teacher who was recently assigned to teach Kindergarten with students with autism. The classroom I am in was left very bare and aside from furniture, has very few educational resources to support my special learners.
Although many of my students face challenges, my goal is to make school a safe place, where they are excited to be, and will excel!
My students are creative, clever and very spontaneous. They like to move, engage in hands-on learning, and love lots of positive attention. I treat them with the respect they deserve, and we work together to make our classroom successful academically, behaviorally, and socially!
My Project
Two weeks before school started I was transferred to a different building and a new classroom! I will be teaching a self-contained classroom to students with autism. I have a big, beautiful, but very empty classroom! As I try to buy teaching materials to fill my classroom I realized I have nothing to store them in!
Having appropriate storage containers will ensure the learning materials will last and be enjoyed by dozens of children in years to come, and reduce the risk of costly replacements.
Your donation will help fill my classroom shelves with safe storage for my students' materials and teaching manipulatives.
