My students are elated, inspired and eager to walk into our art classroom every week. The bold colors, exposure to different supplies and my crazy teaching welcome back a new wave of excitement and enchantment every time they enter the door. We have a variety of different students with varying experiences and exposure to the arts.
My students are always excited and willing to take on challenges in a multitude of creative ways.
They come to me with a unique set of life circumstances and always amaze me with the different solutions they come up with to solve artistic problems.
It is my hope for my students that the skills that they build in the art classroom will carry throughout the different areas of their life and throughout their lifetime. It's my goal that the appreciation and knowledge that they build in the art classroom should be a solid foundation for careers in an ever-changing world of technology and creativity.
My Project
Having the opportunity to spread out and have supplies at an arms-length does the following things for my students: allows students to have ample space to work, gives students the opportunity to be more independent when gathering and choosing supplies, and minimizes unnecessary movement in the classroom.
In our room, we are lacking space and storage in a huge way.
Having these carts at every table will help tremendously. Each table cart will hold oil pastels, chalk pastels, watercolor paints, papers, brushes, crayons, markers, sharpies, scissors, glue bottles, and sticks. This will free up other storage around the room for collaborative projects.
