Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have the pleasure of teaching 15 students. They love learning new things and enjoy being at school. We are constantly working together to create an environment that is loving, kind, and hard-working. My students are always wanting to help each other and their teacher. I feel that speaks a lot about their character because they are constantly putting other people first. My students are learning how to share, work together, learn together, and talk through their problems. They are doing a great job for being five and six years old.

My Project

Seating and storage are major factors that help make a classroom run smoothly. With the large bins, I will be able to store the students bookbags and jackets, and therefore create a new area for centers and play. I also have a plan to create a new writing center, and with the sitting cushions, the students will be able to comfortably sit in their center area and write. I love having them in various places around the room and they honestly prefer to be out of their seats for most of the day! I feel that their work and creativity really shines when they are able to do "work" around the room in fun little nooks in the classroom.
